Lethu (LEH-too), "ours" in isiNdebele. Formerly Ekhayalethu.
Chores, pocket money and shared responsibility in one place, for your family and every household you invite in. The leaderboard ranks each child on their own list, so having fewer chores is never an advantage. Free, always.
Your family and the friends you invite each get their own space, side by side.
From the youngest to the oldest, every member sees what's theirs to do.
Gentle reminders and a shared view keep the whole household on track.
Lethu is completely free to use: every household, every feature, from day one. There's no premium tier hiding the parts that actually make a home run smoothly.
Lethu ("ours") is built on the idea that a household looks after its own. Donations are entirely optional, and here's exactly where they go.
Donations first cover the hosting and upkeep that keep Lethu free and running for every family using it.
Everything beyond running costs goes toward families who need it most: food bank support, tutoring, and basic support for the home.
Including one thing nothing else does: a leaderboard that can't be won just by having fewer chores.
Most apps rank kids on raw points, so whoever has the fewest chores wins. Lethu ranks on the percentage of your own list you've finished, so a child with six chores competes properly against one with two.
Set a chore as daily, weekly, or several times a day, assign it to whoever's turn it is, and everyone sees exactly what's theirs to do.
Set a point value per chore and Lethu tracks what's owed automatically, with a reminder when payout day comes round, weekly or monthly.
Finish everything on your list and you start a streak. It shows as a flame on your card, and when today is still open it says how many chores stand between you and losing it, which does the nudging so a parent doesn't have to.
A child sets what they're saving for and what it costs, and gets a bar that fills as they earn. Setting it shows roughly how many weeks of chores that is, which turns a price tag into something a child can actually reason about.
There's a surprise or two tucked away for kids who go the extra mile, confetti included. We won't spoil it here.
Sunday evening, the week gets a proper close: who led, who improved on last week, how many chores and tasks got done, and what each child earned. You can page back through previous weeks too.
Reward extra effort with a bonus, or dock points when you need to. A penalty comes out of the current week and carries into the next if it has to. It never reaches back into money already banked, so a bad Tuesday can’t undo a good fortnight. And every payment, bonus and penalty can be undone, straight away or later from a full history.
One line at the top of the app shows what’s left today and whether anyone’s about to lose a streak. If you want notifications, a single end-of-day summary tells parents who’s behind, plus an optional midday check-in and a reminder on the day a task is due. If everyone’s finished, nothing is sent at all.
Nobody wants another dashboard. Most of what a family needs to know fits on one screen.
The crown follows whoever is ahead on their own list, not whoever has the most points.
A goal a child set themselves, filling up as they earn.
Sunday night. Who did what, who improved, what was earned.
Name your home and add the chores and routines that matter to your family.
Everyone gets their own list: parents, kids and grandparents alike.
Assign, check off and watch the home run itself. No more chasing people up.
Yes, completely, with every feature included. There's no paid tier hiding anything. Donations go first toward hosting and upkeep, and everything beyond that supports families who need it, food bank support, tutoring, and basic support for the home.
Generate an invite code from inside the app. It's valid for 15 minutes and works once, so you never have to share your household password with anyone.
Yes, each household runs as its own separate space, so grandparents, cousins, or friends' families can all have their own households on the same app without seeing each other's chores or data.
There are three ways back in and you only need one. Any phone that’s still signed in can set a new password straight from Settings, which covers the usual case, where one person has forgotten it and someone else is still logged in. You can also save a recovery email and have a reset link sent to it, or link a Google account. Set at least one up before you need it.
Set a point value per chore and a payout schedule, weekly or monthly, and Lethu tracks what's owed and reminds parents when payout day comes round.
No, it runs right in your browser. Notifications are optional and can be turned on from inside the app if you'd like end-of-day reminders.
Lethu is live and free for every family. Pop in a friend's email and we'll get them a link to get started.
This opens your own email app with a message ready to go.
